1,800sqm of curved insulating glass provide a breathtaking view from the renovated Messeturm Frankfurt. sedak supplied serveral units of 2.8m x 17m façade glass for the light-flooded lobby area, which today invites employees and visitors to linger in a café-bar.
This is the first time in the world that laminated bent glass has been installed in a high-rise building in these dimensions. The lamination-bent facade panes of the "pencil," as the Frankfurt residents call the skyscraper, were artificially aged to minimize spring-back during the bending process.
