sedak is represented with a lecture at the "Glasbau Tagung" of the TU Dresden. The event is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and will be held for the first time in four years at TU Dresden from March 16 – 17, 2023. Fritz Schlögl, Head of Research and Development at sedak, will talk about the development of bullet-resistant glass without the use of polycarbonate.
Until now, the combination of glass and polycarbonate was considered the standard built-up for bullet-resistant glass and limited the available formats to approx. 2.25m x 4.2m. The sedak built-up with the use of polycarbonate and removes previous size restrictions. sedak isosecure® is available in maximum formats of 3.6m x 20m and thermally curved with radii upwards of 1000 mm. The glass structure has been tested for the highest bullet resistance class BR7.
The technical article "Development of bullet-resistant glass without the use of polycarbonate" appears in the technical book Glasbau 2023.
